Description
A digital fence tester with three jobs: it reads the fence voltage, shows which direction a loss is in, and measures how big the loss is. Touch the metal part of the tester to the fence wire and read the display, in kV (6.5 kV is 6,500 V) or in amps; a button switches between the two. An arrow flashes with the pulses and shows the direction of current flow.
Lacme's guide: docile or sensitive animals need at least 2,000 V at every point of the fence, and animals with thick hide, fur or wool need 2,500 V.
Takes a 9 V battery (6LR61), included. Changing it needs a PZ1 screwdriver. It goes to standby when not used.
